Love this look back ... we often don't really make sense of the work we're doing until we can look back a bit and reflect. And so much of what we do as creatives looks like mess, distraction, whatever but is key to the process.

Thanks Kathryn! It’s true- nothing unfolds in a nice neat line.

I love this idea, and am ordering two because I have a feeling I’ll want to gift one to myself. I love your work and your words, this calendar is brilliant.

Wonderful. I love that a side idea led to something far deeper and then into another project altogether.

I am interested in your statement that the newsletter became a way to practice writing. And drawing. What kind of reactions did you get from your subscribers? Did they like it? Or did they want something more polished, more finished?

So glad I bumped into your work. Thanks.

I actually started this newsletter fresh from scratch and share it with my band list periodically- so pretty much everyone who is on my substack is here because they want to read what I am working on. I go back and forth about whether I should just combine the lists and send it all out as one big happy letter and just let people who don’t resonate unsubscribe.

I understand the point. I've started a series on the process that I went through over five years to write my first novel. I debated as to whether I should wait until it's published, or whether I should just send it to friends, or whether I should just not do it, but I decided to send it to my full audience (which is pretty small, mind you; only 300+). I had one unsubscribe and four subscribes, so I guess that is in keeping with the philosophy of

"Just Post It."

Thanks for responding. And, again, loved your piece.
